The external steps-sensemaking, ambassadorship, and task coordination-build on concepts from Chapter Three. This chapter not only reinforces the importance of these internal and external processes but also provides practical guidance for managers on how to implement them. It offers strategies for helping a traditionally organized team adapt and thrive as an x-team. The chapter concludes with a checklist outlining each step and its associated tasks, designed to help managers and team members ensure they are addressing all aspects of an x-team. The authors emphasize that while all areas should be addressed in some way, not every suggestion needs to be implemented. They acknowledge that the suggested tasks may not suit every team. However, the checklist serves as a valuable tool for evaluating progress and identifying areas that may need additional focus to achieve optimal efficiency.
